What happens when an affiliate program changes its software? Do you lose your stats and player history? Do programs do this deliberately to pay affiliates less, or is it just a natural occurrence in the course of the Internet business world? As we speak, a CasinoAffiliatePrograms.com Forum debate is raging about this very topic.

Extract from casinoaffiliate forum:

Yet another example of how rotten this business has become.

It's become impossible to trust affiliate programs.

They seem to think nothing these days of breaching contract.

A contract is a contract.

You can close any contract you like with affiliates, but once you did enter into the contract, you are legally bound by it.

If you want to make a different contract you can do so legally with any new affiliates, or by renegotiating the old contract with old affiliates. But you cannot change it at will after it has been closed. That is the law the world over.

And don't quote any catch-all clauses that say you can do whatever you want whenever you want - they do not EVER hold up in court and are just something lawyers like to throw in there to discourage lawsuits.

If I sell you a television for $100, and after you receive it you decide you'd rather pay $50 and send me that, I will take you to court for the remainder.

Without strict adherence to contract law there would be no trade possible.

Contract law is cut and dry the world over.

That said, I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice. (had to get my small print in there )

Playshare, Roxy and Vegas Affiliates are all in breach of contract. Grand prive just plain stole everyone's commission permanently.

What have we come to? This is just disgusting! The industry is getting so shady I am wondering if we don't need a union to defend ourselves.
